Considered by many to be a spiritual successor to Mercenaries mode, Raid mode is considered to be one of the more fun modes in “Resident Evil: Revelations 2” by the fans, thanks to the sheer joy of killing zombies without story objectives. While it took some waiting, Capcom has announced that “Resident Evil: Revelations 2” will finally be getting online co-op for Raid mode later this month.

Eurogamer confirmed the news. The mode will be arriving to all platforms on the 31st of March via an online update coming to all versions of the game.

Capcom stated that the company has always had plans to bring Raid mode to the online realm but told anticipating gamers that the mode probably wouldn’t be available until the last episode of “Revelations 2” comes out. With the fourth episode set to come out soon, it looks like Capcom is following through with the statement the company made.

Fans hoping for online co-op for the campaign will have to keep on hoping, though, as Capcom stated that there are no plans to bring the “Revelations 2” campaign online. The last time online co-op was in a “Resident Evil” game was in the last-gen title “Resident Evil 6,” which received mixed reviews upon release.

While fans had been anticipating online co-op for the “Resident Evil: Revelations 2” Raid mode, console gamers at least had the opportunity to play split-screen co-op offline with their friends. PC gamers had to wait for the option as co-op was initially cancelled for computers before Capcom changed their minds and announced the return of multiplayer for Raid mode on steam. A mod was made by a fan for the game as retaliation to the initial cancellation, though that problem has finally been solved.

The fourth and final episode of “Resident Evil: Revelations 2” is set to come out this week as well. A report from Games Radar mentioned the teaser below and has warned gamers who haven’t been keeping up with “Revelations 2” that it is filled with spoilers as to what happened in the previous episodes.
