"EOS = Nokia Lumia 1020," @evleaks simply wrote on Twitter about the newest addition to the range of Nokia Lumia Windows Phone handsets. @evleaks is the anonymous but reliable source in the mobile industry and it has been leaking images and details on still unannounced devices at the social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter.

The Nokia EOS moniker came from the Canon's Electro-Optical System (EOS) feature in DSLR cameras. Previous speculations revealed that the Finnish company will include a new device in the Lumia family which was called the Nokia Lumia EOS, until the specific identification number 1020 was revealed.

Apart from the leaked invitations and phone name, a Nokia device with the tag RM-877 passed through the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) listing in early June. The device had certain specifications that suggested it could be the upcoming Nokia Lumia EOS or Nokia Lumia 1020.

FCC details revealed the camera phone will feature a camera grip and charging cover with a size just a little bit bigger compared to the Nokia Lumia 925 smart phone. Leaked images of the Nokia Lumia EOS showed the smart phone sporting an aluminum body as well as a polycarbonate shell casing.

Nokia has not yet released the exact specifications for the EOS device but the circulating reports claim that the new Lumia phone will have a lot of design similarity with the Nokia Lumia 920. Nokia Lumia EOS or now also known as the Nokia Lumia 1020 will feature the impressive 41MP camera sensor with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and Xenon flash running on the Windows Phone 8 mobile operating system.

The Finnish smart phone manufacturer is expected to officially unveil the new Lumia device at the July 11 event in New York City with the exciting invitations that says "Zoom Reinvented" and "41 Million Reasons." The event's live broadcast will begin at 11 a.m. EST on conversations.nokia.com and hopefully details on pricing and release date will be available as well.
