Since its glory days on the arcade and the original PlayStation, the "Tekken" series was always known for its creative and unique characters. From cheetah masked professional wrestlers to adorable pink haired androids, it's clear that Tekken has always had a soft spot for the odd and quirky. However, it looks like the latest character "Lucky Chloe" has been deemed too unique for U.S. gamers as several complaints on YouTube and game threads have lead to her being removed from the U.S. version of the game.

Her cat-inspired suit, headphones and bubbly personality ring of the influence of Japanese pop music celebrities or cosplayers. Polygon reports that, oddly enough, she was deemed either too much of a cliché or too weird of a personality because of her aforementioned outfit. A thread in NeoGaf has harshly criticized the design of the character for being too similar to Marie Rose from the "Dead or Alive" series and various YouTube comments have thrashed the character even more, stating that they would destroy her with bigger and more powerful characters.

The negative reactions has led to developer Katsurido Harada cutting the character from the US release altogether, stating that the character would be Europe and Asia specific, while telling western gamers to calm down and not to worry.

He also criticized the complaints and stated that western gamers would get a "muscular, skinhead" character with powerful attacks instead, maybe even basing them off fighters from UFC. He claims that he's not a fan of characters like these, but feels like gamers from the west really need someone like this given their reluctance to accept Chloe.

I'm always serious. If you don't need = I don't release them. If you need = I'll release. That's all. RT @jdevilb I hope you are not serious

At first some fans thought Harada was just joking, but he confirmed the news on his official Twitter page, as seen in his tweet above. According to Harada, if his audience doesn't want a character, they won't be getting that character. Harada also stated that "Lucky Chloe" is only the first of a whole new batch of original characters heading to "Tekken 7" and that more would be revealed in the near future. As it stands it looks like poor Chloe is nowhere near as lucky as her silly name implies.
