A world first platform added to the SOC Exchange marketplace gives Australian retailers and service outlets the opportunity to establish or boost their online presence to cater to customers in their local area.

The creation of Sydney fruit and vegetable merchant, Franco Lagudi, the SOC Exchange allows retailers to set up their own webstore; publish and email their weekly specials or offers; provide online ordering and shopping; publish blogs, recipes, messages and reviews; as well as provide a free search listing.

SOC Exchange covers a range of categories, including grocery, liquor, pubs, bars and restaurants, cake shops, butchers and delicatessens, as well as seafood shops and fruit markets.

The Harris Farm Fruit Market in Edgecliff was the first to sign up to SOC Exchange and has piloted its development. The store is promoting its SOC Exchange website with flyers and in-store announcements, customers are then subscribing online to receive email alerts about Weekly Specials and Hot Buy items.

This new service for retailers will operate alongside the SOC Exchange’s “buy and sell” platform for consumers, who can sell unlimited items online for the flat fee of $10 per year, with no commissions or extra charges.

SOC Exchange is now rolling out its platform across both Australia and the US.
