A new Mortal Kombat game coming out?

For those who have been eagerly awaiting for a new Mortal Kombat game since the release of the last one back in 2011, this may be a bit of good news.

At the recently concluded San Diego Comic-Con, Polygon reports that Lance Sloane, producer of Mortal Kombat Legacy, has announced that a new game may be in the works.

While there are still no other details officially released, it seems that the game may either be a tie-in or at least a complement of the upcoming Mortal Kombat film that's also planned for release.

"We've been in greenlight committee for a while at the studio and we've got a great script," said Sloane in an interview with Polygon. "And we've got a great director with Kevin Tancharoen, who is on board."

According to Sloane, the main issue seems to be the business technicalities and the schedule of the production and release of the game.

The next question is on which platform will the game come out?
