It’s seemingly safe to say, that remakes are all the rage now. From movies to video games, it’s clear that the past few years have been very nostalgia focused, with HD re-releases like the “God of War: HD Collection” and the re-mastered “Halo: Master Chief Collection” proving to be sales successes. It now appears that Xbox hit “Alan Wake” could be joining them.

An Xbox Live survey recently asked fans if they would be interested in an “Alan Wake” re-master, which has lead to a very positive reaction from fans so far. A forum in Reddit, where images from the survey can be seen, has been mostly positive at the possibilities of an “Alan Wake” remake.

Interestingly enough, one of the questions also asked was if fans would pre-order the upcoming “Quantum Break” game from Remedy Entertainment if it came with an “Alan Wake” remaster as part of a pre-order deal. Other pre-order options were also presented to the user in the survey, like alternate outfits, additional gameplay time, a $5 discount and even a trip to the Remedy Entertainment studio in Finland.

Gamespot noted that Phil Spencer, the current head of Xbox, stated that the reason for the lack of an “Alan Wake 2” is because Remedy is too busy with the company’s new third-person shooter game “Quantum Break.” However, Spencer also said that if a sequel were to be made, than Remedy Entertainment should still develop it.

For those not in the know, “Alan Wake” was a psychological thriller that came out in 2010 for the Xbox 360 and the PC. The game gained a loyal following and sold about 3 Million copies worldwide, it also got a download only follow up in 2012 called “Alan Wake’s American Nightmare.”

Surveys have proven to be very effective when it comes to future content, at least in the world of video games. Game developer “Harmonix” once surveyed fans if they would like to see a new “Rock Band” game in any particular shape or form and now it’s been confirmed that “Rock Band 4” is coming to current-gen consoles like the PS4 and Xbox One.
