Bali Nine kingpin Andrew Chan has married his fiancée Febyanti Herewila at Besi prison on Nusakambangan Island, ahead of his expected execution reportedly on the early hours of April 29. While the timing on the execution has not been decided yet, Indonesian attorney-general Muhammad Prasetyo is expected to make an announcement later today.

Amidst the sadness, there’s a little celebration time for the death-row convict Chan as he decided to get married to his girlfriend ahead of his impending execution. Chan’s brother Michael Chan said that his brother celebrated the Monday evening with his new wife.

They have had a celebration inside the prison this afternoon, with close family and friends, he said. It was an enjoyable moment, as he lamented, and said they would have liked to celebrate with him again. Michael Chan was hopeful that the President of Indonesia use his power to pardon both the Australian in death row.

"I spent the last five hours watching young children playing with their parents and I ask the president to not make orphans out of children, widows," Micahel Chan said. Some family members are just crying inside the prison as we count down the hours, Chan’s brother added. "Please step up and show mercy."

Attorney General of Indonesia HM Prasetyo told the BBC a judicial review "could not amend [a] previous court ruling" and that "foreigners do not have any legal standing for a judicial review on the Constitutional Court".

A spokesman for the Indonesian attorney-general said the executions are most likely take place on the date planned, considering the preparation for it is a 100 percent ready. Meanwhile as many as 200 people have flocked at Blues Point Reserve on Sydney's north shore on Monday evening requesting for Australian citizens Chan and Sukumaran clemency.
