Kelly Clarkson claims she does not see why weed should be outlawed. Smoking marijuana should be as legal as drinking alcohol and taking controlled narcotic substances.

In an interview with US Weekly, the “Miss Independent” singer said she thinks marijuana should be legalised in the U.S. “I cannot understand the fact that controlled narcotic substances and alcohol are legal and weed isn’t,” she said. Her response would be part of the magazine’s “25 Things You Don’t Know About Me” list. She even hinted that nobody dies from smoking weed.

In another interview with People magazine, the singer continues to surprise her fans. She showed off her brand-new shaved head and shared how being a mom affected her. She shared that she never thought she would be a mom, but when it happened, it changed her world “in the most awesome way.”

She added that the baby changed her life goals. She shared that before baby River Rose came into her life, she measured her self-worth through how successful her music career is. But the baby showed her she can be beyond that. "I've accomplished a lot, but I guess the biggest success I want is that whenever I die people will say, 'She was so successful as a mother, and as a wife.’ She added that these are now her goals. Although she understands that her parents are human, she added that having her own parents separated when she was younger might be a factor to what she is currently feeling about raising her own kid.

The baby does not affect her music career though. According to Official Charts, the singer is on the way to bagging the week’s highest new entry with her “Heartbeat Song” single. The song is currently at the second spot on the tally, with Ellie Goulding’s “Love Me Like You Do” occupying the top spot for the fourth consecutive week. The Official Charts is considered the most accurate weekly barometer of what music is considered popular in the UK. If Kelly would reach the top spot, “Heartbeat Song” would be considered the biggest UK single in four years.
