Apple's next generation of smartphones dubbed as iPhone 6 and iPhone 5S may already be in the production stage for their imminent release date.

Reports that claimed that Pegatron, the factory hired by Apple to manufacture the iPhone 6, is hiring 40,000 new workers to ensure that production can keep up with demand when it launches in the fall. Moroever, it is speculated that since Pegatron is hiring quite a number of workers, two handsets are on the way.

It was reported earlier that the California-based tech giant shift its production of Apple devices from Foxconn to Pegatron due to a lot of issues and reasons. One of which is to prevent rumour leaks from the production or assembly line.

This latest shift in manufacturing on Apple's part sees it moving the iPhone away from Foxconn, where its relationship has become strained over the past year, while asking iPad mini factory Pegatron to pull double duty. And while the iPhone 6 will not be released until iOS 7 is finished, which Apple says will be in the fall or sooner, the new iPhone factory is ramping up the headcount now.

Apple's creative designer Jony Ive who designed the iOS 7 interface is also designing the upcoming iPhone 6, so one can expect it to be a conceptual mirror of the other. That points to a futuristic looking new iPhone with minimalist highlights and perhaps an end to the rigidly flat siding, although that metal siding has served as the antenna for the last three generations.

As for the release date of iPhone 6, tech website Digitimes claimed that the new hardware will be ready to go from Pegatron as soon as August.

The next iPhone is rumoured to feature Retina or IGZO screen display, A7 quad core chip processor, iOS 7, 128GB internal storage, 13 mega-pixel camera, and longer battery life. The lack of NFC support on the iPhone 5 was one of the biggest criticisms aimed at Apple's smartphone.

The cheaper iPhone 5S is rumoured to sport a plastic casing, 4-inch screen display, dual core processor and 8-megapixel camera. The smartphone is speculated to be available in five to six different colors.

Both Apple smartphones are rumoured to include a fingerprint sensor technology for added security. The rumour is strengthened by the report that Apple bought a fingerprint technology firm Authentec last year.
