Huawei recently announced a delightful surprise for its fans this festive season. The company has begun sending Android 6.0 Marshmallow update via over-the-air (OTA) to the Honor 7.

The Chinese multinational networking and telecommunications equipment company posted about the news on its official Facebook page. The post has a link in it asking Honor 7 customers to register their personal details for the over-the-air (OTA) update. This means that a user has to click on the registration link which will open a form that the user will have to fill out. The user has to provide his smartphone’s current software version, International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) number, his contact number and email address.

After the user fills out all the details in the form, he will receive an OTA software update notification in his Honor 7 phone within the next two days. The latest software update in the phone brings with it new features like Google’s Now on Tap and Doze, among others.

Now on Tap helps to offer context and time-sensitive information, reminders and notifications. Doze is perhaps the next biggest feature after Now on Tap, which helps to manage and save battery from power loss when your phone is idle and not in use, says Android Pit.

The Honor 7 device is a beautiful amalgamation of design and specifications that make the phone very desirable. The speedy fingerprint identification scanner allows you to unlock the smartphone in just half a second with the use of your finger impression. You will love its 5.2-inch full HD display screen that offers 1920 x 1080 resolutions.

An amateur photographer can be a proficient cameraman with the Honor 7’s 20MP rear camera that has auto focus technology to it. The front camera is designed with 8MP, perfect for taking selfies. The battery capacity of the smartphone is 3,100 mAH that offers up to 500 minutes of talking time, notes an official blog of HiHonor.
