“Halo 5: Guardians” was released recently, and long-time series fans are eager to see how Spartan Locke and Master Chief’s story will play out. As with today’s norms, many titles are expanded with downloadable contents (DLCs) that further deepen the story of the game. However, developer 343 Industries said it will not release a DLC for “Halo 5: Guardians.”

Fans were very fond of the multiplayer mode of “Halo 5: Guardians,” but they didn't respond well to the single player campaign, especially its story and length.

343 Industries’ creative director Josh Holmes recently sat down in an interview with Red Bull about the possibilities of a campaign DLC for “Halo 5: Guardians.” Holmes noted that fans should not expect any campaign DLC from the developer as the story from the base game is as it should be already.

Holmes compared the campaign of “Halo 5: Guardians” with “Halo 4,” stating that the new title is significantly longer. He also said that “Halo 5: Guardians” is twice as long as “Halo 4,” based on research of average gameplay. Of course, the tests conducted included the time it takes to find all the hidden intel and skulls within “Halo 5: Guardians.”

Upon playing the game, fans might’ve thought that there will be a DLC campaign for the title, especially after the success of other “Halo” additions such as “Halo ODST” and “Halo: Reach.” However, Holmes instantly dismissed the idea.

"While we're always looking for new ways to expand the Halo universe, we do not currently have any plans to release future campaign content for Halo 5: Guardians," Holmes said.

The news doesn’t really come as a surprise, as 343 Industries pulled off one of the best multiplayer experiences for any “Halo” game, Forbes reports. The multiplayer mode of “Halo 5: Guardians” is undeniably a good experience as the server and overall gameplay has been refined greatly.
