A UK jeweller has produced a gold diamond Apple iPad worth more than $300,000 despite the fact that most Australians are still waiting to get an Apple iPad.

The golden iPad designer, Stuart Hughes, has created the 22 caret iPad with Apple logo studded with 54 diamonds which he depicts as a good deal at $300,000.

The device weighs 21kg and is described on Hughes' webpage as a superb combination of top-of-the-industry technology and unmatched craftsmanship. He asserts that a great deal of effort was involved in the creation of the masterpiece, right down to the meticulous polishing to reveal it's most stunning and pleasant appearance.

He started creating the super-luxurious gadgets with his wife back since eight years ago.

The iPad was made by casting moulds in the shapes of the devices, before adding in gold to finish the process, which could take up to six weeks at times.

A collection of plush customised phones such as diamond-encrusted Blackberrys and a gold-plated Nintendo Wii 'Supreme' - the ultimate games console costing $600,000 are offered by the couple.
