Fans of the bestselling novel, "The Mortal Instruments" may be a tad bit sad of the fact that there might not be a sequel to the first book, "City of Bones." Despite it being well promoted and having fans all over the world love the onscreen romance of Lily Collins and Jamie Campbell-Bower, there was just something missing that didn't give it the fame in which bestselling fictional novels such as "Harry Potter" had.

The production company handling the book felt like they didn't move in the right direction causing the movie to gain fame in certain countries. Its fans loved the book but they weren't really fans of the movie adaptation.

Collins, who plays the lead role of Clary Fray in the book, had said in an interview with MTV.com that she didn't know when they would begin filming the second book. She didn't know there would be a sequel to the first book but there probably would be and that the fans would definitely be the first to know before the actors in the movie.

Fans want to see Clary Fray and Jace Wayland team up again as shadowhunters in the elusive world of demons, vampires, werewolves and shadowhunters. The onscreen couple and former off screen lovers have gained fame for their roles in the movie adaptation. Collins has gained recognition and is the face of Lancôme. She has been in the spotlight ever since "The Mortal Instruments."

There have been rumors that they are currently looking for the best actor to cast for the role of Jonathan Morgenstern, the evil brother of Clary Fray. It seems like this may be the reason why the movie adaptation for the sequel to the first book may be taking quite a while before they tell people that it would be out and filming.

Fans would surely love to see a better movie adaptation of the bestselling novel by Cassandra Clare. We all hope that there would be "The Mortal Instruments: City of Ashes" movie for those who love the mystical world of Shadowhunters.
