Ever since Spider-Man was confirmed to have a cameo role in “Captain America: Civil War,” fans have been wondering who among Peter Parker or Miles Morales will be introduced in the film. There have been speculations of Miles Morales being the new Spider-Man. But Marvel’s CCO Joe Quesada may have just silenced those speculations with his recent social media post.

Marvel’s Chief Creative Officer Joe Quesada recently answered a fan’s query on his Tumblr page about his thoughts on the future of the “Spider-Man” reboot. When asked what he feels would be “most important to making this Spider-Man film the best that it can be,” Quesada replied, “The trick to making any incarnation of Spider-Man great, whether comics, animation or film is Peter Parker. Get Peter’s character right and the rest falls into place.”

It’s interesting to note that Quesada specifically named Peter Parker and no one else, not even Miles Morales, even though the fan didn’t mention any names. According to Comic Book Movie, this only proves that it will be Peter Parker and not Miles Morales who will have a cameo role in “Captain America: Civil War.” Quesada clearly confirmed with his response that it would still be Peter Parker who will be featured as the web crawler in the “Spider-Man” reboot.

The Wrap’s Jeff Sneider once said during a discussion on the “Spider-Man” reboot with Meet the Movie Press that Marvel and Sony Pictures are likely to cast a black or Latino actor to be the next web crawler. Co-host Mark Reilly from Schmoesknow.com added that Miles Morales could be the next Spider-Man instead of Peter Parker. However, Sony specifically said during a press release that it will be Peter Parker joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The plan is for Peter Parker to first have a cameo role in a Marvel film, which The Wall Street Journal has confirmed to be “Captain America: Civil War,” before the web crawler stars in his solo film in July 28, 2017. It reportedly does not come as a surprise for Spider-Man to first make his introduction in the “Captain America” sequel considering he’s played a very important role in the “Civil War” comics.
