It will be a warm Canada Remembrance Day this 2014, the federal weather bureau said on Monday.

News talk radio CFRA, quoting David Phillips, a senior climatologist, said people who will join the Remembrance Day activities on Tuesday will get to experience a high of 13 degrees for the ceremony. No less than Princess Anne is attending.

"The weather could be Royal-like," Phillips said. He described the weather will give Ottawa a beautiful setting, but did not discount the fact it could change moods. "But I think from a comfort point of view, it will be the best of the best." CFRA said this year's Remembrance Day Ceremony at the National War Memorial is expecting at least 80,000 people, it being a holiday for government workers.

Security has likewise been reinforced and strengthened at the National War Memorial a month after Corporal Nathan Cirillo was gunned down at the cenotaph by an ISIS supporter. Apart from Princess Anne, Prime Minister Stephen Harper will likewise be in attendance, along with Governor-General David Johnston, Chief of the Defence Staff General Tom Lawson, Veterans Affairs Minister Julian Fantino and Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau.

The Globe and Mail, citing Constable Marc Soucy, said operatives will be deployed in the area to conduct bomb sweeps, aside from the usual manning of the gates. "There are steps we're taking that we've never taken for a Remembrance Day event," he said. "We have no information to say anything is going to happen, but we want to be ready." Brigitte Mineault, RCMP spokeswoman, has said that the federal force is "continually assessing potential threats."

Soucy added that officers who will be supposedly off-duty for the day have been asked to help. They are, however, given the option not to wear their full uniform, but they can carry their weapons. This scheme, according to Soucy, possess a dual effect because people feel more safe seeing them, and the officers feel more safe carrying their weapons. Moreover, they are easy to tap should anything untoward happens.

Apart from government offices, other entities that will be close on this day also include all banks and libraries. Most retail stores, meantime, are close until 12:30 pm. Operators of garbage and waste recycling pick-up will follow their regular schedules, so is OC Transpo.
