Brad Pitt is reportedly texting his ex-wife Jennifer Aniston again after his divorce with Angelina Jolie. The news was supposedly revealed by a source close to the actor.

Us Weekly reports that a source reveals that Pitt and Aniston are communicating again. The reconnection between the former lovers has started after Pitt greeted his ex-wife on her 48th birthday on Feb.11.

“They started talking once he wished her a happy birthday,” a source told the outlet. The two were married for five years before their divorce in 2005.

Pitt or Aniston has never officially confirmed that they are exchanging text messages again. “The Tree of Life” actor is currently battling for joint custody for his children with Jolie. The latter wants sole custody. The former couple has six kids: Maddox (15), Pax (13), Zahara (12), Shiloh (10) and eight-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne.

Aniston, on the other hand, is married to American actor Justin Theroux since 2015. She has celebrated her latest birthday in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico with her husband for six years. Aniston and Theroux’s marriage seems to be doing okay as the latter has whisked her wife on a private jet for a six-night birthday and Valentine’s Day treat.

The source from Us Weekly clarified that while the former lovebirds are texting again, nothing is going on between them but pure friendship. The insider said Theroux is okay that his wife is communicating with her ex-husband. “Justin is OK with them being friends,” the source notes.

In other reports concerning Brangelina, Daily Mail reported that the two got a matching tattoo before they have decided to call it quits. The designs that the former couple chose were intended to “symbolically bind them as husband and wife.” Romance between Pitt and Jolie is believed to have started when they were doing the film “Mr & Mrs Smith.” Back then, Pitt was still married to Aniston.

Jolie currently holds temporary physical custody of their kids. The “Maleficent” actress has recently been to Cambodia for the promotion of her film, “First They Killed My Father.” The film is inspired by the life of author and human rights activist Loung Ung. It follows her survival as a child under the reigns of communist Khmer Rouge in 1975-79. “Her story is their story and so this is, in many ways, universal, and we hope that that is something that you think about as well,” the actress said of the film.
