"The Front," which is the episode 5 of "The Blacklist" Season 2, features an eco-terrorist. The highlight of the episode, however, is likely to be the introduction of another character who has a link to Red's past. The preview of "The Front" suggests that this character is likely to be more important to Red than Liz.

TV Line has reported that Scottie Thompson will be entering Monday night episode as Zoe D'Antonio. The actress has a four-episode story arc. The report describes the character as a "charming blue-colour girl." Like Red's ex-wife Naomi, Zoe, too, holds a key to Red's mysterious past, according to the report.

The premiere episode of "The Blacklist" introduced Red's former wife. The last week's episode saw Naomi telling Red that she has no clue where their daughter Jennifer is. Also, when Liz came to her seeking answers about her past, Naomi said to her that Red is not who she thinks she is and she told her that Red is just playing a game. She probably hinted that Red is not her father. There is a possibility that Zoe is Red's daughter. But, one cannot bet too much on that, as the writers of "The Blacklist" like to twist things and love to surprise their audience.

Meanwhile, one of the promo photos reveals that Liz has been admitted to the hospital. In the photo, Red can be seen sitting by her bedside, holding her hand. In the episode, Liz and her FBI taskforce are dealing with the pneumonic plague. According to the preview, the eco-terrorist has the world's deadliest virus and his followers are going to take it global.

Both the synopsis and the preview do not mention about Liz's secret. The episode 4 wrapped up with Liz staring at a closed door and was holding keys in her hand. It is being speculated that it is Tom who is behind the closed door.

According to the official synopsis of "The Blacklist" Season 2 Episode 5, "The Front,": "Agents Keen, Ressler and Cooper pursue an eco-terrorist cell in search of a destructive weapon. Meanwhile, Liz tries to lose her guardian. Elsewhere, Red uses manipulation to pursue someone close to his heart."
