The Blackberry PRIV can finally be pre-ordered in the UK. The first ever Android device by the Canadian phone maker will be available exclusively on Carphone Warehouse with an expected delivery date of Nov. 6.

The UK-based retailer, Carphone Warehouse, has listed the Blackberry PRIV, which runs on Android, for £579.99 (AU$1234). The smartphone, which was previously named Blackberry Venice, has been leaked online multiple times before it was officially announced. The promotional video released by Blackberry, which can be seen below, shows that the device has curved glass on both sides. Last week, the company launched a pre-registration page for the device on its official website.

The retailer also detailed the available monthly tariffs for the new Android smartphone. With an upfront cost of £79.99 (AU$170), the Blackberry Priv with 2 GB data, including unlimited text and calling within UK, will be available at a monthly cost of £34 (AU$72).

The Blackberry PRIV pre-registration page confirms its specifications which include a stunning 5.4-inch dual-curved AMOLED display screen, both touch and physical keyboards and an extraordinary audio quality.” Running on Android 5.1.1, the Blackberry PRIV is powered by a 1.8GHz dual core and 1.44GHz quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor with 3GB of RAM. The handset sports a single nano SIM card. The phone is 9.4-inches thick and weighs 192 grams.

The device will come packed with 32GB of internal storage which can be expandable up to 2TB via a microSD card slot. The smartphone houses a massive 3410mAh battery and features a Schneider-Kreuznach certified 18MP rear camera with a 2MP front snapper.

The privacy focussed Blackberry PRIV also brings in the exclusive DTEK warning system app. The company also published customisation procedures to optimise Android security in a blog post.
