"The Expedition Approximation" is episode 6 of "The Big Bang Theory" Season 8. Just before the telecast of this season's first episode, there were reports that Penny's new job is going to test her and Leonard's relationship, as she would be making good money in her new profession as a pharmaceutical sales representative. The episode 6 is going to feature the much talked about friction in Penny and Leonard's relationship. They are going to fight about money. However, the spoilers indicate that these two are not going to let their fight continue for a couple of more episodes.

The last season saw Leonard presenting Penny a car, so that it would be easier for her to go for auditions. According to the spoilers leaked online, Penny will be getting a brand new car from her company in episode 6. She will be selling her old car - the car that Leonard gave her. The spoilers indicate that she will put the money in an envelope and will be giving it to Leonard. This is going to upset Leonard. Penny will feel that Leonard is showing his insecurity. He and Penny would end up fighting.

Leonard and Penny will seek the help of Howard and Bernadette to solve their money related issue. According to the spoilers, Howard and Bernadette are going to end up fighting. This will help the engaged couple to realise what they should not be doing. Leonard and Penny are going to put the money in a joint wedding expenses account. These two, however, are unlikely to get married in this season.

Meanwhile, Raj and Sheldon are set to spend eleven minutes in their University's basement, which is a "hot sweaty" tunnel, according to spoilers. They will be seen doing this to test if they can survive a dark-matter research expedition in a salt mine.

According to the official synopsis of "The Big Bang Theory" Season 8 Episode 6: "Sheldon and Raj test whether they could survive a dark-matter research expedition in a salt mine by simulating the conditions in a steam tunnel. Meanwhile, Leonard and Penny seek advice from Wolowitz and Bernadette after they fight about money."
