Fans of the "Tekken" franchise would be happy to know that Bandai Namco has already announced the development of "TEKKEN 7." But that's not all, as the latest installment of the franchise will run with the Unreal Engine 4.

Over at the Unreal Engine official Web site, the news broke regarding the announcement made during the Evolution Championship Series tournament in Las Vegas.

"With Unreal Engine 4, we could rapidly achieve visual quality expected on next-gen platform and go beyond it. Not only is Unreal Engine 4 powerful and easy to use, but it allows us to immediately bring TEKKEN 7 to nay platform we desire," said Katsuhiro Harada, executive producer and game director for TEKKEN, over at the Unreal Engine Web site.

The announcement was accompanied by a trailer, which showed off a next-gen worthy fighting game that is also under production with Epic Games Japan. Given the use of Unreal Engine 4, it's not impossible to assume that "Tekken 7" will be coming to the likes of the PS4 and Xbox One, since scalability is no longer an issue that will prevent the adaptation of the game to different consoles.

"Tekken 7" will also be one of the games that will be taking center stage during the San Diego Comic Con, as Game Informer reports that there will be more details delivered on July 25.

'Mortal Kombat X" Gets Another Playable Character

The gruesome, gory, and uber fun "Mortal Kombat X" is getting a new playable character, and it will be in the form of the thunder god Raiden. Developer NetherRealm Studios has already confirmed the addition to the roster with a gameplay trailer at the EVO 2014.

Just like the other announced playables, Eurogamer reports that Raiden will also have three variations, where each packs a unique power depending on the skin. You have the Thunder God Raiden, which manipulates electricity, Displacer Raiden who teleports, and Storm Lord Raiden, who makes use of lightning traps.

And just like its sister superhero fighting game, "Injustice: Gods Among Us," where players can have characters that not necessarily appear in the franchise at all. VG 24/7 adds that "Mortal Kombat X" may arrive.

This is in the form of a DLC, where the report states that the DLC character is playable and how it is when used by another player. According to PS4, there are no complete plans yet, but Boon did mention that they are pushing for a guest character that will come from another franchise.

"Mortal Kombat X" will be taking place years after the last installment, so this means that there will still be other characters coming in that does not necessarily come from the lineup before. And until now, NetherRealm Studios has not yet divulged the overall story arc that the "Mortal Kombat X" will follow, and it has not yet revealed the big bad boss who is supposedly a surprise comeback character.
