Android-based HTC Desire available for sale earlier
All Telstra customers all over Australia are be able to purchase the HTC Desire on 21 April 2010, which was a week earlier from its scheduled release. However, several stores may have to wait a little longer to have the phone.
According to an article in CNET Australia, Telstra spokesperson Ross Fielding, announced that Telstra has brought forward the launching of HTC Desire by more or less a week due to massive response of interest from Australian consumers.
Ross Fielding said that Telstra's flagship (T) life stores in Perth, Melbourne and Sydney would be the first ones to have a supply of the new smartphone. But other Telstra stores across Australia will be receiving deliveries by end of the week.
Another Telstra official, Peter Symons, said that a long weekend of Saturday and Sunday is a wonderful opportunity for populace to walk in and experience it as people want to get their hands on it.
CNET Australia also stated that the accelerated launch indicates that Australians will be the foremost in Asia Pacific to obtain the HTC Desire smartphone.
The phone will be distributed throughout the week to Telstra stores all over Australia. Telstra recommended its customers to purchase the phone online.
