Launched back in August, Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 2 Pro may be its first ever handset to sport a fingerprint scanner. Leaked images of the aluminium back of the smartphone reveal that the device will indeed feature full metal design with a fingerprint scanner placed below the camera unit.

The images leaked by Chinese blog, Mobile Dad shows metallic back panel with fingerprint scanner. In the meantime, My Drivers also reveal images of the upcoming Redmi Note 2 Pro with all metal body and three holes reported for camera, flash and fingerprint scanner. Famous mobile tipster Steve Hemmerstoffer also shared the image of the back of the device on his official account @OnLeaks Twitter.

The Xiaomi all-metal Redmi Note 2 Pro, which is expected to be the successor of the popular Redmi Note 2, is rumored to come in different variants, as reported by Tech Times. The device is slated to be released in November has passed 3C certification in China. Moreover, last week, Times News UK spotted variants of Redmi Note 2 Pro with model numbers 2015617, 2015611 and 2015056 on the 3C certification database.

The Redmi Note 2 Pro is expected to feature a 5.5-inch Full HD display with a MediaTek MT6795 SoC which includes an octa-core 2.2GHz CPU and PowerVR G6200 GPU, paired with 2GB of RAM. It comes packed with 32GB in-built storage which can be further expanded via microSD card slot.

The device also features a 13MP rear camera along with 5Mp front shooter. The smartphone will sport a massive 3,060 mAh battery and tipped to run on Android 5.1 Lollipop with MIUI 7 out-of-the-box.

In the meantime, updating on other Xiaomi devices, the Xiaomi Mi5 which is slated to be released by the end of the year may sport the path breaking pressure-sensitive 3D technology, just like Apple’s 3D Touch in the latest iPhones. And with the launch of Mi.com, Xiaomi is reportedly getting ready to launch the Redmi Note 2 Pro in the Western markets including the United States and major European countries such as France, Germany and the UK.
