Xiaomi enthusiasts, who are looking for a refreshed version of the wallet-friendly Note series of handsets are in for a surprise, as the tech titan is gearing up to unveil the Redmi Note 2 handset on June 29. It is worth mentioning that, this news has reportedly been confirmed by the CEO of Xiaomi.

A new render of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 has been leaked by the credible tipster Twitter account @leaksfly. The alleged device render (attached below) reportedly belongs to the affordable Redmi Note 2. Based on the image, the upcoming Xiaomi handset will apparently feature the long-rumored fingerprint scanner located under the rear-facing camera unit and LED flash, notes GSM Arena.

Speaking of design, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 will apparently flaunt a metal unibody construction, similar to HTC’s high-end smartphones. In addition, plastic strips will be stamped at the top and bottom of the device, so as to accommodate the antennas.

Furthermore, the power and volume buttons will reportedly be housed on the device's right-hand side, while the 3.5 mm audio jack will be located on the top of the phone. Plus, the exterior of the Redmi Note 2 is significantly curved when compared to other Xiaomi smartphones released thus far, observes GSM Arena.

Moving on to the rumored Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 specifications, Xiaomi Today says, the handset will reportedly feature a 5.5-inch full HD display and 1920 x 1,080 pixels screen resolution. When it comes to camera specification, the smartphone will sport a killer 13 MP rear-facing unit, in addition to a gracious 5 MP shooter for selfies and video chats. Under the hood, the phone will apparently be powered by an octa-core Helio X10 processor with MediaTek's MT6795 chipset on board. On the software end, the device will run on either Android v5.0.2 or v5.1, along with the custom MIUI.

Apart from the standard connectivity options, the Redmi Note 2 will apparently support 4G LTE. Lastly, the entire configuration will be powered by a killer battery unit with a capacity of more than 3,000 mAh unit. In any case, readers should note that, Xiaomi has not confirmed the Redmi Note 2 specifications or the leaked images so far.
