According to reports, a new company named Xodiom, also referred as OnePlus' rival, is selling its smartphone for only $329. Xodiom, the totally unknown company has managed to stay out of media limelight and has built a smartphone that is powered by none-other-than the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor. Quite interestingly, the company name and the smartphone name are one and the same.

The one-of-a-kind Xodiom handset's release date is set for Jan. 5 2015. Plus, there is no invite system like the OnePlus One handset. Instead, anybody can place an order straight away on the company's official website. Although, not many information is available on the company, Xodiom is believed to be a German company and the website was apparently designed by German firm Hammar AG, according to Phone Arena.

From the first look of it, the Xodiom is a replica of China's Meizu MX4 Pro. The handset comes with a 5.5-inch display and QHD resolution. Similar to Samsung devices, the company has utilised Super AMOLED display technology. Plus, the device is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 805 SoC, clocked at 2.7 GHz and backed by a solid 3 GB of RAM. As far as the memory goes, the device comes equipped with 32 GB or 64 GB of expandable storage.

Speaking of camera configuration, the Xodiom features a 16 MP rear-facing camera unit with OIS support and a respectable 5 MP "distortion free" front-facing snapper. Notably, this smartphone can capture 4K videos with stereo recording. Moreover, this device is only 0.25-inch thick and it runs on Android v5.0 Lollipop OS along with Xodiom's custom "xOS."

Most importantly, the xodiom handset is sweat/rain/liquids/sand/dust-resistant, says Phone Arena. A Gorilla Glass 3 display protection and 3,200 mAh battery unit complete the device. Lastly, this killer Xodiom smartphone is priced at $329 for a 32 GB model and $379 for a 64 GB variant. Both the handsets come in Tuxedo Black hue.

In case readers are wondering if this unknown company can deliver the orders or if this is a scam, your guess is as good as ours.
