The rumor mill is heavily hinting the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 will be unleashed on Nov. 24. It isn’t known if Xiaomi will announce the Xiaomi Mi 5 flagship smartphone or the Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 tablet at the launch event as its second new product.

A teaser image showing none other than the co-founder of the Chinese firm clearly indicates the Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 will be announced next week. By examining the image uploaded by Xiaomi co-founder and President Lin Bin on the Weibo social site, it can be seen the device sports a very slim profile. Moreover, there’s no LED flash available for the rear camera.

The Xiaomi Mi 5 is a flagship smartphone and it goes without saying the handset will feature a flash for its high resolution rear camera. Hence, Phone Radar reported that Bin actually teased an image of the much awaited Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 tablet.

The entire specs of the Mi Pad 2 tablet aren’t known yet. The original Mi Pad tablet that came out in 2014 came with a plastic body. Rumours are rife its successor will arrive with a metallic frame but will still continue to sport a 7.9-inch screen like the original model.

Some of the key specs of the Mi Pad 2 tablet were spotted on the GeekBench benchmarking site. It revealed the device features an Intel Atom X5-Z8500 chipset. This chipset is packed with a quad-core CPU that can deliver a maximum processing speed of 2.24 GHz. The older model features an Nvidia Tegra K1 2.2 GHz quad-core processor.

Although past speculations have suggested the Mi Pad 2 will come with the Windows 10 OS, the tablet is expected to come preloaded with Android 5.1 Lollipop OS. The Xiaomi Mi 5 handset might not be unveiled during the Nov. 24 launch event. Word is the company will hold an exclusive launch event on Dec. 3 to unleash its flagship smartphone.
