Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine and Channing Tatum’s Gambit are yet to be officially confirmed as character casts in “X-Men Apocalypse.” However, a recent casting call for the film hints the possibility of Gambit and Wolverine appearing in the sequel.

Call Time announced a casting call for the “X-Men: Apocalypse” production in Quebec, Canada. Per Comicbook.com what’s interesting to note is seeing Gambit’s and Wolverine’s name pop out as part of the film’s characters. A rundown of the names of actors and actresses and their corresponding roles were mentioned including that of Channing Tatum’s Gambit and Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine.

“The cast of X-Men: Apocalypse will feature a who’s who of X-Men characters and some of Hollywood’s most talented performers playing them including Channing Tatum (21 Jump Street) as Gambit and Academy Award nominee Hugh Jackman (Les Misérables) as Wolverine.”

The casting call also announced film production is looking for extras for the Montreal City, Quebec location of “X-Men: Apocalypse.” The full casting call announcement can be found at Call Time, LLC’s Web site.

According to Comicbook.com, the casting call seems to confirm Wolverine’s return as well as Gambit’s involvement in the film. However, Channing Tatum has remained mum about his possible cameo appearance in “X-Men: Apocalypse.” Hugh Jackman is yet to confirm his return as well.

MTV News’ Josh Horowitz once asked Tatum during his red carpet appearance for “Magic Mike XXL” whether Gambit will be in the film. Channing Tatum declined to reveal any exact details but instead replied, “You know, I don't know if I'm at liberty to say.”

Horowitz took Channing Tatum’s response as a confirmation that he will be in “X-Men: Apocalypse” as Gambit. But the actor jumped in to further explain his statement and said, “I was about to say, I don't want to introduce Gambit until you can really explain who Gambit is.”

According to Slashfilm, the actor’s response seems to suggest that Gambit will not be appearing in “X-Men: Apocalypse.” Channing Tatum clearly wants to introduce his version of the character in a solo movie first. Having a cameo appearance in the sequel would not suffice considering his intent for Gambit’s story to be told first in a standalone film rather than in an ensemble movie.
