Hugh Jackman reportedly wants to play the role of Wolverine till he dies. The actor said in his recent interview to Cigar Aficionado magazine that he was inspired by Michael Keaton’s character in Alejandro González Iñárritu’s “Birdman.” After watching the film which tells the story of a washed up actor who is known for his iconic superhero role of Birdman, Hugh learnt a lesson that “he should never stop playing Wolverine.”

“I’ve got to find a way to keep playing him until I die. I know that someday they’ll recast the role with another actor…I’d be happy if the role was eventually recast. It would mean that it had become iconic,” he added reported Eonline.

Jackman has been playing Wolverine in “X-Men” series since 2000. He has reprised his role in “X2: X-Men United,” “X-Men Origins: Wolverine,” “The Wolverine” and “X-Men: Days of Future Past.” He will now be playing the role in the “X-Men: Apocalypse.” In his interview, he also added that he wants to better himself with every “X-Men” film. He reportedly doesn’t believe in “stagnation”. As per him “natural cycle” of life either leads to advancement or decline.
