Nude photos in compromising position featuring X-Factor USA judge Demi Lovato have allegedly been leaked for money by a former fling. RadarOnline.com was the first to report the Demi’s naked photo on the eve of her 21st birthday and claimed that the supplier had entrusted them to the Web site which ensured they don’t go to any other media outlets.

There are still no images that have emerged online with naked Demi in them. Though Celebslam has reportedly been in talks with the photo source, it looks like the images have found a home in RadarOnline.com.

Demi, who is nominated big time at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards, has chosen to remain mum on the issue.

Conflicting reports emerged, claiming that it was not Demi in the photos, and the images were simply photoshopped to make it look like her. The images show body parts known as Demi, including the tattoos in her arms.

But the source who spoke to RadarOnline claimed it was legit Demi.

"These are Demi. The collection I have shows some nude, including face, some including parts of the body Demi is known for - tattoos, butt, chin. Then, I have pictures of her getting rowdy ... I can guarantee you these photos are legitimately of Demi," the source claimed, according to RadarOnline.com as cited in a report by KPopStarz.

Now updates show that it was Demi’s ex-lover who may be behind the photo leak. There remains no indication as to the source’s motives in sharing the scandalous photos. If it’s about the money or something bigger than what he will get out of it has not been pointed out.

This is not Demi’s first brush with nude photo scandal. It will be recalled that she was in the hot water for naked photos in 2010 while she was struggling over her weight and other related issues that prompted her to go to rehabilitation.

The bigger question now is, how will Demi be affected by the photos? Will her career turn for the worse? Or will she just ignore them? And an even bigger question is, who leaked the photo? Is it Wilmer Valderama or former flame Joe Jonas? Or is it Trace Cyrus or Alex deLeon? Or is it someone yet to be unfolded.
