Louisa Johnson has claimed the winning spot in this year’s “X Factor UK.” The 17-year-old singer joins the list of performers who landed at the top spot of the reality singing competition.

Johnson was crowned the winner after defeating the duo Reggie N Bollie during the “X Factor UK” grand finals held on Sunday at the Wembley Arena. The Essex singer received the most number of votes during the competition’s grand finals, Express reports.

The “X Factor UK” winner said during the Sunday’s grand finals that winning the competition was something that she had been imagining for years.

"I've imagined this day for so many years,” she stated. “You really have no idea how much this means to me."

The singer’s “X Factor UK” mentor also congratulated the singer and all the fans who supported Johnson. Rita Ora said, "Thank you to everyone for voting. Thank you to Simon for this experience."

Johnson has been a fan favourite since the early part of “X Factor UK.” However, her journey in the competition was not easy since she was faced with a few health scares, in which she almost lost her voice. The singer was even advised by a doctor to go on voice rest just days prior the “X Factor UK” grand finals. Fortunately, Johnson was able to recover and even won this year’s competition.

Johnson and the duo Reggie N Bollie were the final two acts who made it to the last leg of “X Factor UK.” Che Chesterman was voted off the competition after receiving the lowest number of votes during the live show held on Saturday, Dec. 12, Metro reports. “X Factor UK” judge and mentor Nick Grimshaw also applauded Chesterman for his talent and hard work.

“He’s one of my favourite voices in the entire world,” Grimshaw said during the show. “He’s come such a long way. He’s taken it all in his stride. It’s been great. I believe he’s going to have an incredible career.”
