“X Factor UK” favourite Louisa Johnson has been placed on “strict voice rest” days ahead of show’s grand finals and cancels Liverpool performance. Meanwhile, the aspiring singer acted as a tour guide to “X Factor UK” mentor Rita Ora when they visited her hometown in Essex.

The 17 year old was forced to cancel a Radio City performance in Liverpool on Wednesday, Dec. 9, after the doctor advised her to rest her voice. A spokesperson told RadioTimes that Johnson “is unwell and we have been advised by doctors that she currently needs to be on bed and voice rest ahead of this weekend's final.”

The spokesperson also apologized to the “X Factor UK” contender’s fans who were hoping to catch Johnson perform in Liverpool. The spokesperson said, “We’re sorry to disappoint anyone who was looking forward to supporting her at her performance in Liverpool today.”

Johnson also took to Twitter to convey the message to her fans and that she was sorry for cancelling her Radio City performance. She wrote, “So sorry that im missing tonight in liverpool! Need to be on strict voice rest ahead of the biggest week of my life, it needs to be perfect.”

“X Factor UK” insiders also told RadioTimes that there’s nothing dramatic behind Johnson’s bed rest and explained that the aspiring singer was just “tired.” However, a source also shared with RadioTimes that decisions are being made on a “day by day” basis, depending on Johnson’s condition. The “X Factor UK” finalist has several performances to rehearse before the competition’s finals, including the song pieces for her grand finals stage.

Prior to the doctor advising bed rest and voice rest, Johnson was able to visit her hometown Essex with “X Factor UK” judge Ora. The two travelled to Johnson’s hometown abroad the “X Factor UK” battle bus on Monday, Dec. 7. Johnson toured Ora to her former primary school at St. Thomas of Canterbury School in Grays, according to ITV. The two also went to Johnson’s home where she was greeted by fans and family members.

Johnson, along with the two “X Factor UK” finalists Che Chesterman and Reggie N Bollie, will be fighting for the top spot in competition’s upcoming grand finals.

The “X Factor UK” finals will air on Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 12-13 in the UK in ITV.
