Cyrus Villanueva’s career may have just begun, but the “X Factor Australia” 2015 winner is set to make it big in the music industry.

Since winning the reality singing competition, the 19 year old singer has been busy with his debut album “Cyrus” and in writing original songs. Villanueva is looking to reach the same success that “X Factor Australia” judge Guy Sebastian enjoyed after he won “Australian Idol” in 2003, according to news.com.au. He also shared that he’s planning to release a new song by next year.

“Hopefully I will get a new single out early next year,” he said. “I have learned from Guy that when you come off a reality show is you just don’t stop the hard work and you don’t wait for things to come to you.”

The “X Factor Australia” 2015 champion is also determined to provide his fans new tracks that would hopefully become a hit similar to his debut single “Stone.” Villanueva stated during his news.com.au interview that he “[doesn’t] want to be a one hit wonder.”

Apart from talking about his music career, Villanueva also confessed that he has been trying to avoid reading social media posts about himself, even if it was a positive feedback over his “X Factor Australia” performances. He explained to news.com.au that he avoided reading social media commentaries since he knew “it would affect [him]” and that some of the feedback “would get into [his] head.”

“All the times I ended up a bit teary, I wasn’t afraid to show it,” he added. “I thought the worst thing anyone would say would be I had an ugly haircut but that didn’t happen so hopefully it is a sign people have grown up. Even with the best artist, someone will find something wrong with them.”

Meanwhile, Villanueva gave his fans a treat when he released his self-titled album “Cyrus” ahead of the Dec. 11 schedule. He took to Twitter on Tuesday, Dec. 8, to announce the good news. Villanueva wrote, “Surprise surprise - CYRUS is out now!”

The “X Factor Australia” winner is also set to meet his fans in a series of signing and performance events in various cities such as Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. The event started Dec. 6 and will end on Dec. 22. The singer will also headline Goulburn’s annual Christmas celebration, the Carols of Hope event.

Villanueva, along with four other music celebrities, will perform at Sydney’s Belmore Park on Dec. 22 for Goulburn’s Carols of Hope celebration.
