For the third consecutive time, “X Factor Australia” 2016 aired an emotional and staggering decider, sending home another front-runner.

After kicking out powerful performers Natalie Ong and Aya, Aussies ended the “X Factor” journey of Chynna Taylor, who was considered a strong contender this year. In a live episode on Monday, the American singer found herself in the bottom two along with girl group Beatz.

Chynna, who belongs to Guy Sebastian’s Over 22s category, sang “What’s Up” by 4 Non Blondes in a last-ditch effort to save herself from elimination [watch below]. Mel B’s Beatz, on the other hand, picked Christina Aguilera’s “Fighter” to perform during the showdown. Once more, the two judges, along with Adam Lambert and Iggy Azalea, were split in their votes. Guy and Adam voted for Beatz to be eliminated, while Iggy and Mel B said Chynna should leave.

In the end, host Jason Dundas announced the shocking results: Chynna’s going home. Chynna broke down after hearing her name called and could barely answer Jason’s question. Guy, for his part, said he was shocked with the voters’ decision and even criticised his co-judges for going into a deadlock. “This is stupid,” Guy said. “She’s the best singer here, and she shouldn’t be leaving.”

Some “X Factor Australia” fans were outraged, blaming Iggy for Chynna’s untimely exit. They took to social media to air their sentiments, not mincing words against the Australian rapper and campaigning for her to be fired from the show. Fans pointed the finger at Iggy for the judges’ deadlock decision since Mel B would expectedly vote for her rep.

On the reality show’s Facebook page, followers reckoned that Guy had every right to be mad over the deadlock. One fan who goes by the name Greg Lennox wrote, “Iggy – what a f-ing disgrace you are. Not backing the best voice in the competition to save someone you didn’t even want in your category. Shameful. So glad Guy called you out.” Another, Jamie Lewis, commented, “Izzy thing should be fired for being unprofessional and disrespectful she is there to judge and find talent not to be vindictive, bitter and put people’s real chances at winning the show at risk.” Monica Ann Mohan, on the other hand, has this to say: “Iggy should be sacked because she has no talent to find talent… Iggy take a good long hard look at yourself… bad decision bad bad decision!!!”

Also on Monday’s episode, Brentwood was also sent home after receiving the fewest votes. This further trims down this year’s contestants to only five. The remaining finalists are: Beatz and Vlado Saric from Mel B’s Underdogs, Amalia Foy and Isaiah Firebrace from Adam’s Under 22s and Davey Woder from Guy’s Over 22s. Iggy doesn’t have any rep anymore – her female trio Aya was voted out during the second live decider.
