A 21-year-old Canadian student, popularly known as "the world's sexiest criminal," agreed to plead guilty to a number of charges. The young convict now stands the chance of spending several years behind the bars.

Stéphanie Beaudoin faces allegations of 114 separate offences, including illegally possessing nine guns and theft. She appeared in a Quebec court on Monday. She said that she came to the realisation that she had been wrong in many ways and that she was ready for the punishment. Beaudoin's case became viral since her pictures were circulated during the time she was accused for the first time, Daily Mail reported. Beaudoin spoke in French as the court heard her claim that she regretted her actions. Her lawyer said that Beaudoin was ready to plead guilty to about 30 allegations. In addition, she expects Canadian prosecutors to drop the rest of the charges against her that include offences like breaking in.

Beaudoin said that she had acted on a whim during a bad time. She said that she had suffered the consequences but would want to look ahead, Lanouvelle.net reported. District Attorney Anthony Cotnoir, on the other hand, did not find it surprising to know that Beaudoin had decided to plead guilty. He said that such a plea was expected on the basis of the evidence in the file. Beaudoin is scheduled to reappear in court on December 9 for the next hearing. According to Cotnoir, the required pre-sentence report would throw light on Beaudoin's motives. He said that it was still unknown why she had done what she had done. Everyone was still in the dark about her motivations behind the offences, he said.

Criminal lawyer Denis Lavigne believes that Beaudoin had committed the offences out of depression. He said that her momentary depression, which was shortly resolved, might have been the reason behind the crimes she had committed. Even though she managed to recover from depression, Lavigne said that she was still in touch with her doctor. The Pre-Sentence Report is going to be crucial as, according to Beaudoin's lawyer, it will bring a lot of insight into her psychological condition while committing those crimes.
