George RR Martin appears to be feeling the pressure to finish “Winds of Winter” and announce a release date as soon as possible. Although the author is under no obligation to deliver the book within any deadline, he is keen on giving his eager fans what they have been waiting for.

With enough fame and money, Martin can choose to take the backseat and enjoy life. However, the author has been hard at work to finish the next book in “A Song of Ice and fire,” also developing new shows based on his works.

Martin has been working so hard lately that he hasn’t had time to watch movies, even though he owns a theater in Santa Fe. The author said in his blog that the only movie he managed to see last month was “Wonder Woman.”

While making time to watch movies may be difficult with all the work that needs to be done, Martin does get to relax for an hour or two at night by watching TV. He likes “Fargo” and “Better Call Saul.” After the two shows aired their finale last month, he started browsing Amazon, Netflix and Hulu to look for new shows.

While watching TV shows helps Martin to relax, the author is unhappy about not getting enough time to read books. It is important for writers to read to constantly fuel the mind with new ideas and strategies.

Martin did not reveal how much of “Winds of Winter” remains to be completed. The upcoming season of “Game of Thrones” may reveal more details from his book. However, since the show and the books have diverged, there is still hope that the novel will be as entertaining as the other books in “A Song of Ice and Fire” series.
