The monthly usage report for the Windows Phone based devices has been published by AdDuplex. It is worth noting that, the brand new Lumia devices are making headway when compared to their predecessors in January 2015 report.

To be specific, the Microsoft Lumia 63x series of smartphones and the Lumia 530 are gearing up to take the place of the well-received Lumia 520 as the top handset from the Lumia family. Notably, the entry-level Lumia 530 smartphone moved up from the tenth position to the respectable fifth position. Meanwhile, the Lumia 635 has settled for the sixth position from the ninth position. Other then the aforesaid devices, the Lumia 925/Lumia 920 has also made marginal improvements, notes GSM Arena.

On the other hand, Microsoft/Nokia still continues to dominate the Windows Phone 8 market share. The tech giant rules with 95.60 percent of the market, followed by HTC with 2.56 percent and Samsung by 0.99 percent. Plus, Samsung is closely followed by Huawei at 0.56 percent. Also it is worth mentioning that, the Windows Phone 8.x series of phones will eventually be migrated to the upcoming Windows 10, says the same site.

Moving on to the market share of Windows Phone OS versions across the globe, the Windows Phone 8.1 holds 62.6 percent market share with an improvement of 4.7 percent. Whereas the Windows Phone 8 and Windows Phone 7’s market share stand at 24.2 percent and 13.2 percent, respectively. In both the aforesaid cases, there is a decline in market share of 2.9 percent and 1.8 percent, respectively, according to Slide Share date.

In the U.S., AT&T holds 30.8 percent of the overall Windows Phone 8.x operation. Meanwhile, T-Mobile, Cricket and Verizon hold 19.7 percent, 19.3 percent and 15 percent of market share, respectively. While AT&T and Verizon have seen improvement this time around, there is no reported change in the T-Mobile’s share.

Speaking of Lumia 535 handset, the recently released handset has become one of the top handsets in India and it holds the second position with 9.1 percent market share. Nonetheless, the Lumia 520 is still ruling the Indian market with 26.8 percent.
