Microsoft Windows 10 for phones may bring support to run Android apps very soon. The Redmond giant is going to hold its Build 2015 developer conference in San Francisco, U.S. from April 29 to May 1. Speculations are rife that the company may official announce thee support for using Android apps on its newest operating system for mobile devices.

According to Paul Thurrot who is a reputed Microsoft journalist who has accurately revealed secrets in the past states that users of Windows 10 will be use Android apps on their devices. Microsoft has been speculated to bring on this feature since quite some time and finally its arrival is speculated to get announced at the Build 2015 event.

WM Power User states that if Microsoft adds Android app support to Windows, it will have to build its own apps as Google services like the Play Store will not be available. It further adds that in order to install Android apps, users will have to access third party app store such as the Amazon App store. Hence, users will not be able to access well-known apps that are available only on the Play Store. To install such apps, users will be required to add the app to the device by side-loading and then install it. Paul stats that the introduction of Android app supports for Windows 10 users will not be a meaningful move for the company. He states that if it comes true, why would a buyer choose to upgrade to a device running on Windows Phone? Users are more likely to choose Android over Windows Phone since they will come more comfortable in using Android apps.

At present the arrival of Android app supports seems to be a welcome move, it can result inevitable switching of users from Windows Phone to Android powered devices. Paul also states the people who have invested their time in learning the Windows Phone OS platform, the arrival of Android compatibility can be something that will not be rewarding for them.
