The 2014 Wimbledon Open championship are up and running at All-England Tennis Club, pitting in the world's finest tennis players through two weeks of intense Grand Slam battles.

Who Are To Watch at Wimbly?

Men's Singles

After a historic campaign last year, Britain's no.1 Andy Murray is looking for an encore performance on his home turf, but the competition is expected to be tighter with seven-time winner Roger Federer, former Wimble champ Novak Djokovic and world's no.1 Rafael Nadal leading the charge.

Federer guns for his first Grand Slam title since the 2012 Wimbledon Open, while Djokovic tries to end his Grand Slam drought. Meanwhile, Nadal wishes to have a better showing on grass after losing in the second round to Lukas Rosol in 2012 and Steve Darcis in the third round of last year's Open.

Other dark horses to watch are Czech Republic's Tomas Berdych, France's Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, Switzerland's Stan Wawrinka, and Spain's David Ferrer.

Thoughts To Ponder:

"I feel like, yeah, if things click here, I should be able to win the tournament. I feel I have a very good chance again this year. I hope to utilize my fitness, the amount of matches I've played this year. So I'm really coming in with a much better feeling," Federer said of his chances to win this tournament.

Women's Singles

Unlike the men's tourney where the Big Four reigns, the women's play are going to be a wide open battle with world's no.1 Serena Williams, reigning French Open champ Maria Sharapova, China's Li Na, rising star Simona Halep and former champ Petra Kvitova coming in as the favorites.

Then again, history proved how unpredictable the competition at All-England Club, and a new champion could be crowned at the end of the tournament.

Thought to Ponder:

"Starting in the third round, Serena could face, in order, Alize Cornet (who beat her in Dubai), Eugenie Bouchard/Andrea Petkovic (both French Open semifinalists), Maria Sharapova (reigning French Open champ) and Simona Halep (French Open finalist). And then she'd have a final to deal with! You couldn't handpick a tougher draw if you tried. Serena has the hardest possible matchup in each seeding category," Chris Chase of USA Today said of Williams' incredibly difficult draw.
