Within her 25 years in the entertainment business, Whitney Houston earned six Grammys along with 400 other awards for such hit songs as "I Will Always Love You" and "The Greatest Love of All." She became even more famous when she partnered with Kevin Costner in the movie "The Bodyguard."

Houston inspired many singers, including Beyonce, Mariah Carey, Alicia Keys, and Celine Dion. She encouraged countless performers joining talent shows on TV.

Unfortunately, at the early age of 48, she passed away. Her body was found in a Beverly Hills hotel room on Saturday. The tragedy happened in the evening when she was expected to attend the yearly pre-Grammy party thrown by Clive Davis, a record producer and the person who made way for Whitney's career. Davis discovered Houston in a nightclub during the early 1980s.

The cause of death is still under investigation. In 2002, she confessed on television to using cocaine, marijuana and prescription drugs. She also was known to have an alcohol problem.
