WhatsApp VOIP calling feature has already arrived for Android users. However, iOS and Windows Phone users are still waiting to see the feature on their devices. According to WM Power User (WMPU), the WhatsApp voice calling feature has been officially confirmed for Windows Phone users.

The WhatsApp voice calling feature is also available for other mobile platforms like BlackBerry OS, Symbian and S40. The WMP post claims that an email from WhatsApp Support Team proclaims that the voice calling is under construction for Windows Phone users. However, the team does not promise anything on the release date of the feature.

According to International Business Times report published on April 1, The Fuse Joplin (TFJ) claims that the voice calling is available through beta the latest version of WhatsApp. The beta version is still unstable and is likely to contain bugs.

Before making the WhatsApp Call feature available for all Android users, WhatsApp had made it available on invitation-only basis for testing purpose. However, for Windows Phone platforms, the voice calling feature will arrive directly to all users without the need of sending and receiving invitations.

Phone Arena says that even after adding the VOIP calling feature, WhatsApp will not show any ads and will continue to offer an uncluttered experience to its audience. Like before, it will be available for free in the first year and after that users will have to pay 99 cents annually.

Even though the arrival of WhatsApp voice calling has been officially confirmed, another TFJ report suggest that VOIP calling feature will arrive in May. The reason behind such a delay is that developers are interested in launching WhatsApp calling feature for popular mobile OS platforms like Android and iOS that have higher user base. This is the reason why it has already arrived for Android users.

TFJ claims that Android users say that WhatsApp calling functionality is working well and they hope that it will be improved even more in future. The new WhatsApp update with voice calling support will come with features like read receipts and improved QR code scanning for WhatsApp for Web client.
