WhatsApp may soon add an array of features for both iOS and Android users, claims a new report.

A host of new features including call back, voicemail and zip file sharing will land on WhatsApp, according to Phone Radar.

The new WhatsApp features will be available for both iOS and Android users. The new ‘call back’ feature of WhatsApp will enable users to make a call with just a tap of a button appearing in the notification pane.

Once the users get notified of a missed WhatsApp call, they will be able to call back immediately without even opening the app.

Additionally, the translation requests indicate that WhatsApp is also expected to add support for voice mail for iOS users. Once the user is busy with another WhatsApp call, the voice mail feature will become active. It will allow users to record and send voice mail to the recipient during a call.

WhatsApp will also reportedly allow users to share ZIP locked files to contacts. This will facilitate those users who need to frequently exchange heavy files via WhatsApp. Previously WhatsApp added support for sending and receiving PDF files with a maximum size of 100MB.

WhatsApp is expected to test the new features through its beta program some time soon.

In the meantime, WhatsApp announced end-to-end encryption to protect its messages. This means, no one, including WhatsApp itself can read the messages exchanged between the sender and receiver.

The encryption would help users to protect their conversations from cybercriminal and hackers. Now onwards, WhatsApp will not store messages in its servers once they are delivered.

Earlier in January, WhatsApp announced it will axe the $1 annual subscription fee.
