A man looks out of a store as a mini van drives through a flooded street after torrential rains hit several neighborhoods in Mexico City May 26, 2014. Hurricane Amanda, the first named storm of the Pacific season, moved on Monday losing strength against Mexico's Pacific coast and while still remaining far from land, is forecasted by the local weather service to bring heavy rains to the capital and several other states, according to local media. A video of vehicles mysteriously leaping into the air has gone viral, grabbing the attention of online audiences. Last week, three vehicles appeared to have suddenly jumped into the air in the Hebei province of Xingtai City in Northern China.

It was a head-scratching experience for the people who witnessed it. The video shows how three vehicles levitated a few feet while two were waiting for a green signal and the other one has just passed an intersection. The mini-van in the left side of the video swung into air followed by two other vehicles at the same time. Fortunately, there were no fatalities reported.

The vehicles were inspected, but there was no indication of any collision was found. The incident was recorded by the CCTV cameras installed on the street.

The visuals were hard to believe. A few thought the video was a real mystery, though some commenters believed the video was a planned stunt rather than a real incident.

“Somebody's halfway decent at visual effects. You didn't notice The cars shadow underneath disappeared? You didn't notice that it's rear tire was reattaching itself? Looks like they got the original video tape onto Adobe aftereffects. Duplicated the video to make a background. Masked off the accident and ran that later in reversed. Visual effect achieved,” a YouTube commenter wrote.

Another comment joked, “I'm far more concerned about the mysterious red circle that keeps getting bigger and bigger... ,” referring to the marker that was added in the video.

While the video was jaw-dropping and has inspired supernatural theories, there is actually a simple and rational explanation for that. According to the UK Telegraph, it was a steel cable that caused the strange accident. The steel cable discovered on the street tangled within the vehicles’ wheels, prompting the crash. The wire reportedly fell off a truck and was suspended by a street sweeper.
