A YouTube video posted on May 4 about a class of high school students helping two teachers get engaged has gone viral online. High school teacher Jonathan Holt from Chalmette High School in Chalmette, Louisiana enlisted the help of students to help propose to his girlfriend, Iris, who teaches at the same school. (Watch the video below.)

“I knew it was going to be a special moment — the beginning of an epic life together — and I wanted to involve as many people as possible because the more people that can share that feeling, the more powerful it is," said Holt to BuzzFeed. The 25-year-old added that he asked who the class clown was and when everybody pointed him out, Holt asked him to propose to Ms. Howorth with a Ring Pop. He then told every one to else to do the same.

According to the report, Holt also sought the help of the school principal to get Iris out of her classroom. He then ran into her classroom and handed out Ring Pops to the students, so they could “propose” to her. The class burst into squeals of giggles when he told them that he is going to propose.

When Iris returns from the "meeting" with the principal, the students start proposing to her. As the surprised teacher looks around, not understanding what's happening, Holt enters the classroom and pops the question.

After she says "Yes," the couple walk out of the classroom where Holt had one more surprise. They were greeted by the school marching band and students with balloons.

WGNO reported that Iris had no idea Holt had set up such an elaborate plan to propose. The surprised teacher said that when the students started proposing, she started getting "suspicious." However, she added that the marching band was a surprise.

The report disclosed that Holt thanked the school administration and the "phenomenal" students. He also said that the proposal was a way for the couple to leave behind their "legacy."

At the time of this post, the video has already garnered 344,042 views with 604 likes and 18 dislikes. The video has also received 38 comments, with many commenters congratulating the couple.

YouTube users Shhreenny G, Michelle Martinez, Hristiyana Slavova and Linsey Matthews commented that the video was really "sweet" and "adorable." One of the users, Jenny Nguyen-Don, said that they'd definitely be one of the "cool teachers" now.

Another user joked about a conversation with his wife after they watched the video together. She told him that's how a proposal is supposed to be and he should've have done that. He replied, "Babe, you're not a teacher."
