Fans of CW’s hit series “The Vampire Diaries” has seen several new characters added to Mystic Falls in Season 7, such as the heretics. The series’ showrunners are set to now add a new vampire hunter and a mysterious new character.

A new character named Alex is said to be added to “The Vampire Diaries” Season 7, according to TVLine. In the “Ask Ausiello” portion of TVLine, a fan asked if there’s “anything” new on “The Vampire Diaries.” Ausiello commented that the series is currently “casting a potentially untrustworthy new character.” He described the character of Alex as “warm until crossed.”

However, it is still unclear whether the character is a good or a bad person. Although Ausiello admitted that there’s something “really weird” about the character, since “Alex apparently runs a ‘mysterious organisation’ that will soon be introduced” in the series.

The actor or actress to play the new character Alex has yet to be identified.

Meanwhile, the second character set to join “The Vampire Diaries” Season 7 cast is sure to wreak havoc on Mystic Falls. Earlier in November, the addition of a lethal new vampire slayer was reported by Entertainment Weekly. Rayna, the new vampire hunter, is described as “fierce, driven, smart and confident.” The character is said to have “[returned] to the world of the living after being taken out by her enemies.” This hints that the new vampire slayer will be a vicious character who won’t rest until she has completed her vengeance mission.

Casting for Rayna's role has also been completed with “NCIS” actress Leslie-Anne Huff set to join Ian Somerhalder, who plays Damon Salvatore. According to TVLine, the actress bears some resemblance to Nina Dobrev, who played Elena Gilbert in the series. Dobrev decided to leave after Season 6 of “The Vampire Diaries.”

Fans can learn more about the new vampire slayer Rayna in upcoming Episode 12.

“The Vampire Diaries” Season 7 airs every Thursday in the U.S. on CW and every Friday on Australia’s Fox 8.
