New TVD character Jo is currently recognized as the love interest of Alaric (Matt Davis) in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 6. However, actress Jodi Lyn O'Keefe teased in an interview that her doctor character will also have a connection with Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev) in the upcoming episodes of the CW TV series' new season.

In an exclusive Hollywood Life interview, Jodi Lyn O'Keefe talked about her character being Alaric's new lady love and the new doctor at Whitmore College. However, the 36-year-old actress did not reveal if her character is one of the good guys or the bad guys.

"When you're on The Vampire Diaries, it just goes without saying that you're probably going to have secrets," the actress shared to the entertainment Web site when asked if the new character has any dark secrets, like Tripp (Colin Ferguson), which the TVD fans should be aware of. Jodi Lyn O'Keefe further teased in the interview that there will be a connection between Jo and Elena in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 6.

With Elena back in college and considering pre-med, Jodi Lyn O'Keefe shared that her character and Elena will initially have a professional relationship in the beginning. The actress added that the connection between the two will grow as the storyline for the new season moves forward.

"I think Elena being as bright as she is, Jo will probably notice her and take her under her wing," O'Keefe teased. Meanwhile, the new TVD character will be making another appearance in the next episode titled "The World Has Turned and Left Me Here."

The Whitmore Homecoming Corn Maze party will bring Jo and Alaric together after Elena suggested that the resurrected vampire should become more social. However, Jo and Alaric's romantic moment together at the corn maze party will be cut short when a devastating accident takes place and the two will end up saving lives.

A released promo photo also showed Jo and Alaric wounded at the corn maze and it has ignited the important question of whether Jo will finally find out what Alaric really is or not. Watch "The Vampire Diaries" Season 6 when it returns on Thursday night, Oct. 30, at 8 p.m. ET on the CW Network with episode 4 titled "The World Has Turned and Left Me Here."
