After bringing “Avengers: Age of Ultron” into the pinball arena, it seems like the sky is the limit for Zen Studios and their numerous pinball video games. Now the developer behind “Zen Pinball” is teaming up with world-renowned video game company Valve to bring their critical darling “Portal” into a pinball table, with the newly announced “Portal Pinball” for consoles and mobile devices.

Fans of the hit Valve game will be happy to know about all the bells and whistles that will appear in “Portal Pinball.” Characters like Chell and Wheatley are set to make appearances, as stated by Gamespot and many will rejoice once they hear the familiar female voice of “Portal” antagonist GlaDOS.

Other humorous additions, like the turrets from the “Portal” games will also be making appearances in “Portal Pinball.” Fans can also expect some “Portal” related gameplay mechanics in the game, with the possibility of the Portal Gun being used, though it is unlikely for the pinball to traverse to new areas.

There will also be an interesting gameplay mechanic called the Cooperative Testing Initiative Multiball. While the exact nature of this feature is still not fully known, Pocket Gamer states that this will lead to cameo roles for ATLAS and P-Body, who come from the two-player co-op mode of “Portal 2.”

“Portal” has proven to be one of Valve’s biggest hits, with many fans and critics praising the game’s usage of teleporting and puzzle solving. The first game was included in “The Orange Box,” which also came with the critically acclaimed “Half Life 2” and the multiplayer-centric shooter “Team Fortress 2.”

Thanks to the popularity of the first “Portal” game, a sequel was made in “Portal 2.” The game featured the aforementioned two-player co-op mode, as well as a longer single-player campaign. The sequel was still loved by many, though some fans of the game, like Ben “Yahtzee” Croshaw from Zero Punctuation, felt that it wasn’t as good as the first game.

“Portal Pinball” will be hitting consoles and mobile devices later this month, on May 26. The expansion will be released as paid DLC for “Zen Pinball 2” and Pinball FX 2” on mobile devices and consoles.
