An Updated List of Actresses Who Want to Play Anastasia Steele in 'Fifty Shades of Grey' [PHOTOS]
"Fifty Shades of Grey" may be dubbed as "mommy porn" for a few but it is different for Hollywood celebrities who have heard of it only lately.
It's a love story with a dark twist involving a virgin and a brooding, handsome entrepreneur. So who wouldn't be addicted to the BDSM-themed novel? In fact, a lot of A-list celebrities have spoken up on playing the raunchy role of Anastasia Steele.
E.L. James' best-selling erotica novel has beaten the likes of "Harry Potter" and "The Da Vinci Code". "Fifty Shades of Grey" books are selling like hot cakes worldwide with over 10 billion sales to date. With the number of readers and fans increasing by the minute, the number of women who have come forward expressing interest to play the lead has increased as well.
The first actress to have ever said "Yes!" to play the role of Anastasia Steele would be none other than Kristen Stewart. In fact, Stewart was the inspiration behind Ana. The trilogy was based on Stewart's character in "Twilight". Despite not having finished the book, Kristen is "dying" to make another film even if it is as sultry and sexy as "Fifty Shades".
"I haven't read the book yet, so I don't know," said Stewart in an interview with Celebuzz. "But I'm dying to make another movie with Rob. I think we're a good team, and whatever it is needs to be so ridiculously ambitious ... but I'd love to work with him again."
Another chick starring in a Vampire series who has expressed interest in the role of Ana is Nina Dobrev. Even Nina's onscreen and off screen beau, Ian Somerhalder is dead serious in getting the role of Christian Grey. The two may pose as the perfect potential stars to be in the film.
"All I've heard is that it's very scandalous, to say the least," said the "Vampire Diaries" star in an interview with MTV News. "I haven't read it, but who knows? I mean, well, I guess we'll have to see," continued Nina.
The stars of "Pretty Little Liars" are also lining up to play the role. First off is blonde bombshell, Ashley Benson. Having played the edgy role in the upcoming flick, "Spring Breakers", the role of Ana appears to be Ashley's next target.
"I've read every book. I want to play Anastasia," said Ashley to Celebuzz. Benson's brunette co-star on "Pretty Little Liars," Lucy Hale is also in on the competition to nab the role of Anastasia Steele.
"I just finished the first [book]- I'm speechless," admitted Lucy Hale. "I think every girl on the carpet wants to play [Ana]! That would be freaking awesome. I'm really curious to see how they're going to turn it into a film."
The most recent addition to the list of actresses who have expressed interest in the role of Ana would be Emma Roberts. The famed niece to Julia Roberts may be too young for the role but Emma says that playing the lead "sounds awesome". Like Stewart, Roberts has not yet finished the novel but she's down to getting dirty on screen.
