Google Inc. is continuously updating its services to provide easy and efficient usage for its patrons. The latest update in Gmail is a good example of such drive. The update is evident in its ability to recognize confirmation emails for flight reservations, concert tickets and even restaurant reservations to name a few.

Aside from the said information showing up in Google Now, the mentioned examples or events will also be visible in Google Calendar. Enabled by default, users will be sent a confirmation email the first time it happens. The user also has the option to disable the feature through the Google Calendar settings.

The calendar also has an auto-complete suggestions feature for new events. For example, when you type the word "birthday," phrases like "birthday party" or "birthday surprise" appear as suggestions. You can also see suggested names and addresses as you type.

Google has updated the Agenda view as well. Re-named as Schedule view, this list of upcoming events is made more visually enticing with illustrations, location photos and map previews, PCWorld reports.

The update is available for devices powered by Android 5.0 Lollipop. The Nexus 9 tablet being one of the first to use the platform and will enable its users to enjoy the updates from Google. Google updates will also be available in Android 4.1 Jelly Bean or higher in the coming days or weeks. The company is also planning to launch the Calendar's native version for iPhones, widening their scope.

The update of the Calendar is just one of the many updates that Google is cooking. Just last month, the software giant released a new mobile app called Inbox. Working hand in hand with Gmail service, the latest app intends to help organize emails, which will change users' perception of Gmail as an ordinary "mail box". Inbox is Google's answer to rivals like Mailbox which is owned by Dropbox, CNET reports.

Google's biggest revenue earner is its $50 million search and advertising business. However, the company must face tough competition from mobile apps maker. So needless to say, we can expect more product updates and product launches from the software giant.
