After protecting the earth ‘Thor’ is now out to protect ‘Snow White’ as the male lead in ‘Snow White and the Huntsman’.

First reported on Deadline, Australian hunk Chris Hemsworth has now finalized the deal with Universal Pictures for its version of the centuries-old fairy tale.

No details have been provided on the deal between Chris Hemsworth and the studio, but the newcomer from Down Under, who starred the twice-box office hit film, ‘Thor’ landed the good guy role as the Huntsman in ‘Snow White’.

In the film, Chris plays the protector and mentor for Snowhite, the character that will be portrayed by Twilight star, Kristen Stewart.
Snowhite is the Thor star’s second big film project in Hollywood so far, and he landed the job according to Deadline, with the help of the IFA talent management and its ROAR management partner and co-founder William Ward, the same group that represents Chris worth’s younger brother, Liam Hemsworth. It was Willard who discovered Chris while scouting for talents in Australia.

As he vied for the role, Chris brought in his resume as he sat down at the negotiating table his appearance in 171 episodes in television show in Australia called, “Home and Away”, the same program to introduce Heath Ledger, the late Aussie actor who made his way to Hollywood and made it big before his untimely death.

Aside from ‘Snow White’ Chris Hemsworth is also appearing in other film projects including, Cabin in the Woods by Lionsgate (2011) and Red Dawn (2011). He is currently filming The Avengers expected in theaters in 2012.
