Stephenie Meyer, author of the bestselling “Twilight” saga, is going to publish a new thriller book for adults. Entitled “The Chemist,” the book is reportedly featuring a protagonist totally different from Isabella Marie Swan or Bella from “Twilight.”

Meyer has been in the limelight through the success of her vampire-themed fantasy series “Twilight.” The saga revolved in the love story of Bella Swan, a human, and Edward Cullen, a vampire who’s forever stuck in his teens. The series proved to be a huge hit and was later adapted in the big screen, which was also a big success.

"Twilight" propelled not only Meyer as a writer. Actors Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson, who played the main characters, also became big stars. Now, Meyer is moving on from vampires to secret agents in her new book “The Chemist.”

“’The Chemist’ is the love child created from the union of my romantic sensibilities and my obsession with Jason Bourne/Aaron Cross,” Meyer stated according to The Wall Street Journal. “I very much enjoyed spending time with a different kind of action hero, one whose primary weapon isn’t a gun or a knife or bulging muscles, but rather her brain.”

Meyer says that “The Chemist” is about a former secret agent who’s on the run from the U.S. government, who deems her a threat for having known too much secrets. Ironically, her only chance of survival is to take one last job from her ex-employers.

According to Inquistr, through “The Chemist,” Meyer is set to proving her writing ability which has been harshly condemned by “Twilight” critics, who frowned upon her prose. Critics also bashed Meyer for writing a lead female character who was so dependent to her boyfriend and her male best friend. Even acclaimed author Stephen King has also criticised Meyer’s capabilities narrative skills.

Meyer admits to being hurt by the negative things she received for her vampire saga. Nonetheless, her success through “Twilight” cannot be denied, even influencing the creation of E.L. James’s bestselling “Fifty Shades of Grey,” which began as a “Twilight” fan fiction. Now Meyer is given another chance to prove herself as a writer, this time with her new thriller book “The Chemist.”

"The Chemist" will be coming out on Nov. 15.
