Toronto in Canada is hosting the world’s first orgy for disabled people. The masquerade ball event would be held on Aug 14 at the Buddies in Bad Times Theatre in the major Canadian city. The venue could accommodate up to 125 people.

Toronto Sun reports that the organisers of the event, titled Deliciously Disabled, would charge an entrance fee of $20. However, there would be no charge for caretakers. The theatre could accommodate 20 wheelchairs, while there would be an interpreter for deaf participants. The event coincides with the city’s hosting the Parapan Am Games.

The event seeks to dispel the mistaken belief that people with disabilities have lost their libido or sex drive, said Stella Palikarov, disability awareness consultant. Palikarov is suffering from spinal muscular atrophy, but she pointed out that many people think her being in a wheelchair has affected her libido.

Palikarov said that people who oppose holding the orgy for the disabled subconsciously hate the fact that some people in wheelchairs have better sex than a lot of people. “By making this party accessible, we are saying openly that people with disabilities are sexual beings and not only in more conventional ways,” she adds.

Andrew Morrison-Gurza, co-organiser of the event, points out that “A wheelchair can become just a big sex toy.” Morrison-Gurza, 31, suffers from cerebral palsy.

Palikarov stressed that the even should not be considered shocking but “should be celebrated.” She added, “No progress is ever made without controversy,” quoted Mirror.
